Paellas in Moraira

Where to get the best ones ?

If there is one Valencian dish you MUST have during your holiday in Moraira, it’s paella. Most people assume that paella is a “Spanish” dish when it is actually very emblematic of our Valencian region. There are hundreds of paella dishes : Valenciana, Señoret, al pulpo, vegetarian, al caracol etc. The most satisfying part of sharing a paella ? Scraping the little burned bits from the bottom of the paella dish…yuuuum ! So where to get great paellas in Moraira ?

Today we are taking you on a tour of our favorite places to have great paellas in Moraira

*please keep in mind that these are our personal recommendations based on our preferences. We also only recommend places we have tried so the fact that some places are not featured here does not mean they are not good! We will update this list when we find new spots we like.

El Raco del Arroz, Moraira

A tiny little restaurant in Moraira we love to visit. You might walk past it without noticing but trust me, it is lovely. This place is popular with visitors from Valencia, and they know their paellas.

Family-run and traditional, they offer the most popular kind of paellas and the food is always fresh and tasty. You can even order paellas to take away or for parties.

A must if you are in Moraira !

Restaurante El Chamizo, Moraira

If you are looking for a tasty paella AND a fantastic view of Moraira…this is the place.

Restaurante Chamizo has been around for years and they offer more than just paellas too ( try the champagne sauce clams…yum).

Remember to book your paella in advance, tables are limited in the summer.

Restaurante Amantes, Moraira

What goes best with a delicious paella ? A stunning sea view.

Restaurante Amantes truly has it all, from the fantastic location to the professional staff, an extensive wine list and delicious and refined food. Their paellas are on the pricier side of the spectrum but you are paying for more than just a rice dish. A great place for special occasions too.

Restaurante Dgust, Moraira

One of the oldest “gastro” restaurants in Moraira, Dgust has evolved with Moraira throughout the years but remains a local favorite for fine dining and paellas. An elegant restaurant to try this Valencian staple, and always with impeccable service.

Cova del Mero, Denia

I’m almost reluctant to share this address as this is our little “secret spot” we like to visit on a Sunday.

Don’t let the simple decoration and plastic tables put you off! The food is to die for and portions are more than generous. You can enjoy a fabulous meal right on the beach and prices are very reasonable.

They have all kinds of paellas and arrozes melosos (wet rices) but also offer fresh fish and seafood.

Book in advance as they get busy in the summer.

Restaurante Mena, Denia

One of the best paella restaurant in Denia. Week-ends are busy all year round and the place is always buzzing.

Ideally park your car at the entrance of Las Rotas and walk along the sea promenade to restaurante Mena. They have a fabulous terrace overlooking the sea and the food is fantastic, probably one the best paellas we’ve ever had.

If you are visiting on the weekend, place an order in advance as you may have to wait !

What we like to order : paella de bacalao

    Club Nautico, Moraira

Restaurante Bela Dama ( Club Nautico) is the ideal setting for an elegant meal overlooking the Marina. Service is always impeccable and the paellas never disappoint. If you fancy a drink after your meal, head to their roof terrace for a cocktail.

Club Nautico also hosts celebrations and weddings.
